Client approval workflow checklist
Use this six-stage checklist to send cleaner review packets, get one recorded decision, control revision loops, and release only the version the client approved.
Make every handoff inspectable.
A useful approval workflow separates three things: what is being reviewed, who can decide, and what happens after that decision. Complete the boxes before the packet moves to the next stage.
Assign one decision owner
Build the review packet
Run a bounded review
Record the decision
Release the approved version
What happens after review?
Do not let feedback drift into an unowned comment thread. Route the decision into one of three explicit outcomes.
Lock the version.
Record who approved it, confirm the destination, assign the release owner, and verify the live result.
Open a bounded revision.
Turn comments into specific changes, name the new version, set the next reviewer, and state whether another approval is required.
Stop the release.
Record the reason, identify the missing decision or input, assign an owner, and do not substitute an older asset.
